Murray is the publisher and editor of The Waterbury Observer (www.waterburyobserver.com) newspaper in Waterbury, Connecticut. Murray began his journalism career photographing commercial fishing boats in southeast Alaska. He worked at the Litchfield Enquirer, in Litchfield, Connecticut, and the Register-Citizen, in Torrington, Connecticut, before helping to launch the Observer in October 1993. His work has appeared in the Hartford Courant, Connecticut Magazine, Sports Illustrated, the Boston Globe and the New York Times.
